Pumpkin Patch

A little trip to the pumkin patch

Awed by the amount of pumpkins

Norah had about 5 picked out to take home... oh, the choices

The bounce house was a hit! Norah was content keeping me company. Finally, she jumped in and I had to almost drag her away!

Waiting patiently for the swings

It just happened to be the hottest day in October- naturally!
I just love those rosy cheeks!

Thrilled to be on the swings...

...until he realized I wasn't pushing him. Such a sad boy!

This was the only thing that Norah really wanted to do... the train ride.
Of course, it was at the very end!

Pumpkin time!

All in all- a great adventure!
Man, I love these kids!

A love letter to the nap...

Dear My Beloved Nap,

I quietly weep as I write this note to you. We have been together now for 54 months. We have been through highs and lows, good and bad, short and long. You have been there like no one else has. You gave me a reprieve as I suffered from lack of sleep from having a newborn. You have rescued me from the depths of the sickness that only pregnancy gives. Again, you returned to get me through another newborn. You have allowed me to have control of the remote, get chores done in peace and let me talk for hours on the phone. I have treasured our time together and the sanity you have given me. I am saddened to day that we are reaching a crossroads. My heart breaks as I think that part of our time together will be over. Norah is starting to not need you like she used to. I see her starting to phase you out of her life. It's not you, it's her. Really. She is growing up and starting to think you may be getting in the way of her lifestyle. Believe me, it is not my choice. I will treasure our times together and will never love "quiet time" as much as I love you. Just remember, we'll always have Evan.

Love,

Karin

Thumbs Up & Up

To say that I am a fan of Target is like saying the sun rises everyday.  One time I happened to have on khaki's and a red sweater and someone asked me a question like I was an employee. The sad thing, I answered them. When I saw that Target came out with a new store brand, I was skeptical. I am a bit snobby with "store brand" products. I needed baggies, so I went out on a limb and bought some just to get me by until I could go to Sam's and buy a years worth. Oh my sweet, little baggies- you brought me such joy. I got brave and then decided to try a few other things... every one pleased me like the first. My heart skipped a beat and I started feeling those love palpitations in my heart. On one trip,  I looked in my cart and everything was Up & Up. I was plowing through product testing like a demon and everytime I was happy! Then came a day... a day when I had to make a choice... a choice that never would have occurred to me before, but now my heart was so loyal to the Up & Up products... I had before me two items:

Pampers. The only diaper that I have loved and been loyal to. I have only been disappointed when I tried something else. Have always felt that no other diaper could touch my baby's bum. The higher price has never phased me because I KNOW that they are better.

VS.

Up and Up diapers. The store brand. $7 cheaper. I have a coupon, to boot. I have yet to be disappointed in any other product that Target has put out to this point.

Jason talked me through the panic sweats and I blew the box of Pampers a kiss and made off to the check-out with my yellow box of Up & Up diapers. The verdict, you ask?  L-O-V-E them!!! So there you have it-

Thumbs Up & Up on the Target brand!

*** Disclaimer: I would not use the dispers for brand new babies. I would stick to my cuddly soft Pamper's Swaddlers. I would go into these when it was time to go into the Cruisers. If you like the Pampers Baby Dry or Huggies brand, then you probably won't see any difference.

Welcome to Waaas Vegas!

If you live in Las Vegas and never have taken to the kids to watch the airplanes on Sunset Road, then you are missing out! There is a little parking lot along the runway and you can sit and watch to your hearts content. Evan has always had his eye on the sky and even before a year old would point out airplanes and say, "pairpane!" I had a brilliant plan after taking my parents to the airport with the boys and they could not get enough of seeing the planes. We picked up lunch, backed in to a parking space, opened the "hatch," and let the fun begin! The kids would whoop and yell as the planes landed.  People were watching the kids and commenting on how something so simple could be so fun. Sure enough!

Simple fun and priceless smiles!

They would spot one coming, wave nice and big and shout, "Welcome to Las Vegas!"

I only wish I could see the people on the plane seeing their welcoming commitee.

As the planes took off, they yelled, "Thanks for visiting!"

Trevor and Evan always up for a quick smile
